(Don’t throw your computer away give it new life with Mint Linux)
Windows 10 end of life
Microsoft Windows 10 is coming to end of life in October 2025. Many computers do not meet the strict specifications to run Windows 11. If your computer does meet these specifications, then you can freely upgrade to windows 11. Currently Microsoft will allow you to extend support Windows 10 for one year for home computers at a price of approximately $30.
What does this mean if my computer does not meet the hardware requirements As of October 2025, your computer will continue to operate however you will not be able to update Windows 10 and therefore your computer will be less secure as time goes by and more prone to virus attack etc.
Eventually, many software programmes will no longer be offered for Windows 10 or will NOT be supported by the creators of the software.
New hardware like printers will no longer have device drivers for Windows 10 so you will not be able to use them. For more information about this read out article on the TDB Website Windows 10 End of Support
